SUKKUR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) wrote a letter to the chairman for the purpose of conducting an inquiry against former Sindh home minister Suhail Anwar Siyal.
According to details, Suhail Anwar Siyal is accused of embezzling funds which pertained to the development of Larkana. He is also accused of possessing assets through illegal means. Sources disclosed that NAB Sukkur received a written complaint against Siyal, who was at the time the Home Minister of Sindh. In the complaint, it was alleged that Siyal had embezzled funds which were for the development of Larkana and purchase assets through illegal means.
Sources also revealed that based on the complaint it received, NAB conducted its initial inquiry into the matter and found out that through the use of various ‘front men’, funds amounting to millions had been embezzled which were reserved for the development projects of Larkana. Sources also disclosed how Siyal is also accused of possessing properties and cars worth crores of rupees, through illegal means.
NAB sources further revealed how Siyal had recently purchased a 450 acre agricultural land worth millions of rupees. NAB Sukkur has written a letter to the chairman to grant permission to conduct an inquiry against the former Home Minister of Sindh on the basis of the important facts the initial investigation revealed.
Upon being contacted, NAB spokesperson confirmed that the inquiry against Suhail Anwar Siyal pertaining to the embezzlement of development funds of Larkana was in its initial stages.
Following the resignation of Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the former Home Minister is now serving as the provincial Minister of Agriculture.
