ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is desirous of durable peace and stability in the region, President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of two-day ‘Made in KPK’ exhibition on Saturday. The president said peaceful co-existence was the hallmark of Pakistan’s foreign policy. “We have always extended goodwill gestures to all neighboring countries for peace in the region,” he said.
He said Pakistan had been at the helm of efforts for peace in Afghanistan. “Afghanistan shares with us common religious and cultural values,” the president said. He called upon India to join hands for peace instead of hampering efforts made in this regard.
He said Pakistan would become an economic hug of the region after the completion of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He urged all stakeholders to join hands with the government for successful completion of development projects.
“The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserve a rich tribute for exhibiting exemplary courage in rooting out the menace of terrorism alongside the country’s armed forces,” he said.
He said the government had taken landmark initiatives for betterment of education, health, energy and infrastructure of the country. He urged all stakeholders to join hands with the government for successful completion of development projects.
